A toothache is a normal condition which everyone undergoes from this problem. In Ayurveda, a toothache is known as a DANSHOOL.  Here we will see some Ayurvedic treatment for tooth pain. This situation makes us unable to eat or sometimes even cold and hot drinks, sometimes acid causes the tooth decay problems.

Causes Of Tooth Pain:

  • Excess consumption of food which is rich in carbohydrates.
  • Cavity
  • Tooth broke
  • Gum disease
  • Open of tooth vessels

Ayurvedic Treatment For Tooth Pain:

Mustard Oil:

In a 1 spoon of warm mustard oil add a pinch of turmeric powder then mix it well. Gently apply this mixture on the painful area and leave it for 4-5 minutes then wash off with normal water.

Asafoetida Powder:

Take equal quantity of lemon juice and asafoetida powder, mix it well and apply on aching tooth. Leave it for 4-5 minutes and wash with normal water.

Clove:

Fry 2-3 cloves then add it in 1 spoon of coconut oil then grind it and make a paste. Apply this mixture on affected area and leave it for 5-10 minutes then wash it off with water.

Add pepper powder in clove oil then apply to affected area and leave for 5-10 minutes then rinse it.

Garlic:

Place the garlic clove with rock salt on affected area of the tooth and hold it for 15-20 minutes, this will help you to kill bacterial infection of the tooth. Also chew 2-3 garlic cloves daily for healthy tooths.

Onion:

Onion plays an important role in Ayurveda, this will help you to fight with a bacterial infection. This will give you a bad odor for a while but don’t worry simply chew a raw onion twice in a day.

Salt:

Have you ever think why there is salt in toothpaste? Because it gives strong protection to our teeth. Mix 2 spoon of salt in a half glass of water and gargle with it 2-3 times in a day.

Dietary Treatment For A Toothache:

  • Avoid eating gummy food like chewing gum, jellies etc.
  • Increase the consumption of Vitamin C rich foods and fruits.
  • Avoid drinking cold after having a hot drink.
  • Also, avoid drinking alcohol and smoking.
  • Reduce the consumption of sugar and carbohydrates through candy, cookies etc.
  • If you will not get rid of with these remedies then consult a doctor.
